You're not a creative if you use ai to market yourself.
If something GOOD takes longer to create, then you know it's real. If it didn’t take long, then it's probably not as good as you think. Or it looks good initially, but when you analyze further, it’s a different story. I think people get scared when they spend a long time creating something, and when it doesn't get recognized, they turn cold or, worse, turn to AI.
I usually don't get enraged quickly, but when I saw photographers making AI ads to market themselves, I lost it. I use my education and strategies to fuel the broke artist within me, and now I see what I needed to see. I have lost all respect for those types of people, and I stand by that.
What happened to humans actually CREATING? Why do we constantly feel the need to find something to feed that evil side? People don’t want to look at art in museums, fewer people are reading (including myself; I wish I could do it more), and people are wasting their lives away, for what? Money? Money that you'll never see anyway.
I agree there are positives to the use, but why do people let it control their lives? Why do you ask it everything? "I'll just ask chat." Why is that even a thing? It seems like people don’t remember how to think critically anymore. Which is why I'm forcing myself to write this in the first place, even if no one reads it. I'm constantly having to pull myself back into reality, because why should I run to Claude to ask it for a content calendar, or have it make me a flyer for my business?
It's so hard to know if people have real feelings anymore. Do they just look at the dollar sign and get fueled up because AI says if they do XYZ, then they can make more money?
How about you go outside, speak with your family, have some quality time, or simply take your own photo, put it in Canva, and post it on Instagram.
This is how I see photography - I go into my sessions with no phone in sight. My only focus is me, my camera, and the people in front of me. I lose myself for however long the session is. That is when I truly find myself letting go and becoming a version of myself that isn't just running on E to make a living. Just a person who loves art, people, buildings, and no AI.
